ABOUT CALL FOR HEALTH/UNA VOZ PARA LA SALUD
Call for Health is a national patient navigation system that promotes health and well-being for farmworker families through bilingual educational publications and a national call line that responds to questions on accessing local health care resources for farmworkers.
The national toll-free number (800-377-9968) is staffed by bilingual Information Specialists Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time, and accessible 24 hours a day through answering service and/or voice messaging.
PATIENT CARE
Call for Health Information Specialists will:
- Identify and connect farmworker families with community health care, dental, and vision services in response to their medical questions and concerns.
- Provide interpreter services when language barriers exist in accessing medical care. This assistance is available to the farmworker as well as the health provider.
- Assist farmworkers in applying for public entitlement programs, and negotiate payment or service rates with providers to lessen the financial burden of healthcare costs.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Through the generosity of private donors and fundraising efforts undertaken by NCFH, the CFH Program also provides financial assistance for medical co-pays. For information about this program component, please click here.
CALL FOR HEALTH MATERIALS
Call for Health provides free material to health centers and other providers for distribution to farmworkers and their families to promote and explain the CFH Program.
Materials available for distribution include posters, business cards, key tabs, rack cards and pocket directory. In addition to the promotional materials, the CFH also provides access to The Farmworker News, a bilingual and low literacy periodical published 6 times a year that provides health information for farmworkers concerning their health and well-being. All materials are available in English and Spanish.
