Overview of the National Center for Farmworker Health

National Center for Farmworker Health, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit corporation located in Buda, Texas -- about 20 miles south of Austin, the state's capitol.

 NCFH Goal

NCFH's goal is to enhance the capacity of Migrant Health Centers (MHCs) to provide access to care and eliminate the health status disparities between farmworkers and the general population in the U.S.

NCFH has the following objectives in support of their goal and mission:

  • Leadership Development and Training: To build a multi-disciplinary training center which will deliver a comprehensive set of leadership development opportunities to current and potential migrant and community health center employees, in order to strengthen the network of providers of care to the farmworker population nationwide.
  • Migrant Health Network Support: To provide a comprehensive set of information services to the network of migrant and community health centers that will enhance their ability to provide primary care services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers, thus increasing access to care for the population.
  • Formalize and Expand the Migrant Health Network: To formalize and expand the network of migrant and community health centers and other providers to increase access to primary and specialty care for farmworkers as they work and travel across the country.
