Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sylvia Partida, was recognized and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Community Health Institute (CHI) & Expo Conference hosted by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
NCFH was so fortunate to have Sylvia lead the organization for 25 years prior her retirement in 2024. Sylvia was a pivotal leader focusing on expanding access to high-quality care for migratory and seasonal agricultural workers, with a push for nationwide collaboration. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Ag Worker Access Campaign, launched in 2015 as a joint effort between the NCFH and NACHC, which spotlights the continued need of our Nation’s farmworkers for quality primary health care and the commitment of the Health Center Program to ensure these essential workers have access to care. During her time as CEO, she led an effort to develop a National Partnership for Preparedness and Rapid Response to Public Health Emergencies for Agricultural Workers to build the strength and resilience among the many farmworker serving organizations in the US. NCFH is honored to have had such an exemplary Migrant Health Champion and thankful for her many years of service. To read more about this year’s recipients, visit NACHC’s website here. Congratulations Sylvia!
