New Issue of Health Tips! Acid Reflux and GERD/¡Nueva Edición de Consejos de Salud! El Reflujo y GERD

3/18/2015

Acid reflux is a common problem that people often ignore or try to fix with over-the-counter medicines, like Tums or Rolaids. However, acid reflux should not be taken lightly. In this issue of Health Tips, readers will learn about acid reflux, what causes it, and the consequences of this health problem. The articles offer recommendations for preventing and treating mild acid reflux at home, as well as information about medicines for treating more severe cases. Readers will also learn about gastroesophageal disease or GERD, a long-lasting and more serious form of acid reflux. GERD can cause chest pain that can be confused with a heart attack, so readers will learn how to differentiate if the pain they feel is a sign of GERD or of a heart problem.

You may view and download previous issues of Health Tips in our digital archive.
