In 2021, NCFH contracted with local partners to setup 19 demonstration projects around the U.S., with nearly $1.3 million in funds to increase vaccine access for farmworkers and their families. Contracted organizations worked on delivering community and workplace vaccine education and vaccination clinics. Many projects also provided COVID-19 control and mitigation support to farmworker communities, such as distributing PPE, providing safe quarantine housing, and facilitating access to testing.
As part of the demonstration projects, NCFH partners:
Supported distribution 62,343 COVID-19 vaccine doses to farmworkers and their families
reached 446,652 farmworkers with COVID-19 education
Gave additional COVID-19 assistance or referrals to 25,819 farmworkers
Please read our full report for the projects’ impact, the lessons learned, and the next steps. For a more detailed look at NC FIELD, a demonstration project located in North Carolina, see their case study here.
