Call for Health/Una Voz para la Salud
The Call for Health (Una Voz para la Salud) program directly supports farmworkers by helping them find health care services in any part of the U.S. The program provides:

Outreach & Education Grants
NCFH is funding 30 farmworker serving organizations across the nation to support their outreach and education efforts in local farmworker communities, The organizations are composed of health centers, community-based organizations, and workers' centers that work tirelessly to advocate for the wellbeing of farmworkers and their families. The organizations are committed to conducting outreach and engaging agricultural worker communities by providing clinically accurate information via educational resources that are culturally and linguistically appropriate about COVID-19 prevention, testing, vaccines, and related issues to support farmworkers’ ability to make informed health decisions. |
Demonstration Projects
NCFH has funded 18 demonstration projects around the U.S. with nearly $1.3 million in funds. These projects are aimed at increasing vaccine access for migratory and seasonal farmworkers and their families. These projects are working on community-based and on-farm vaccination clinics and vaccine education. Many projects are also continuing to provide COVID-19 control and mitigation support to farmworker communities, such as distributing PPE, providing safe quarantine housing, facilitating access to testing, and providing income replacement. |
H-2A Guest Worker Outreach
Because of the severity of COVID-19's impact on H-2A guest workers, NCFH has focused resource development and direct outreach to H-2A guest workers. We work directly with H-2A guest workers to develop educational tools around COVID-19 prevention and vaccinations and test all of our COVID-19 health education materials with H-2A guest workers. NCFH has also worked with a coalition in Texas to conduct outreach to large H-2A worksites throughout the state and assist employers with on-farm vaccine clinics. In late 2021, NCFH will also be starting direct outreach to H-2A workers in Mexico around COVID-19 prevention, vaccinations, and information about how to access health care services once they arrive in the U.S. |
Collaborations with Agricultural Employers
NCFH is working with the National Association of Agricultural Employers to identify industry associations, growers, and labor contractors to facilitate COVID-19 vaccine clinics at worksites or housing sites and to provide virtual or in-person vaccine education sessions.. By working directly with employers to organize vaccine clinics and health information sessions, NCFH is addressing the immediate health needs of the COVID-19 pandemic and laying the foundation for future health-related partnerships with agricultural employers. This work will be a model for providing preventative health measures like flu vaccines, diabetes tests, and mental health check-ups to farmworkers in the future. Employers can find more resources and information here. |
