To build the capacity for comprehensive primary health care in Hays County, NCFH spearheaded the creation of the Hays County Coalition. The inaugural meeting took place in November 2007, chaired by NCFH CEO Ms. Bobbi Ryder. Attendees included key local leaders—the Hays County Judge, Hays County Commissioner from Precinct 2, and representatives from Hays Consolidated Independent School District—as well as stakeholders from the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC), Williamson County Community Health Centers, CommuniCare in San Antonio, Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos, and Seton Medical Center in Austin.

The Coalition committed to collaboratively addressing primary care needs through a comprehensive assessment of demographics and health disparities, community development initiatives, funding proposals, and the establishment of essential linkages and infrastructure. Under Ms. Ryder’s leadership, the group set the foundation for strategic planning aimed at developing an effective healthcare delivery system tailored to Hays County’s unique needs.
