National Center for Farmworker Health

Leadership Development & Training Center

The NCFH Leadership Development and Training Center (LDTC) was created in 2000 with the goal of increasing the knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities of staff of all disciplines and board members in order to strengthen the network of providers of care to the farmworker population nationwide.

The LDTC is committed to providing high quality training and technical assistance designed to meet the ever-changing needs of Community and Migrant Health Centers and other health and social service organizations. The LDTC offers a variety of training and technical assistance programs and services. Although services have been designed specifically with Community/ Migrant Health Centers in mind, the educational content, skills and strategies employed are applicable to a wide audience. We are solution focused and will work with you to customize a training to meet your organization's needs. The LDTC has highly trained and seasoned health education professionals and facilitators to work with you and your staff to design and deliver a personalized program.

The LDTC services include:

  • Leadership & Staff Development Training Programs (On-site)
  • On-Site and Off-Site Consultation and Technical Assistance Services
  • Health Education/Health Promotion Program Development
  • Development of Low-Literacy and Culturally Appropriate Health Educational Materials

Available services range from telephone consultation to on-site, hands on training and/or facilitation. Some technical assistance and consultation services are offered free of charge and are delivered via e-mail, telephone or postal service. Other services that may require extensive staff time or staff travel are offered at a fee-for-service basis. This should not discourage inquiries for these services as we work hard to make services affordable for everyone.
