Do you need to explain to patients what happens during a Pap test? Our new digital story La Prueba Pap / The Pap Test educates the audience about the Pap test and the benefits of having it done. It helps the viewer understand what happens during a Pap test. Narrated in Spanish with English subtitles, this health education resource can be used by outreach staff and health educators, or for viewing at health centers. Farmworkers are at high risk for heat and sun illness because they work for long hours outdoors during the hottest and sunniest time of the year. For this reason, it is important to teach and inform them about heat and sun safety. Our educational farmworker safety program, Promoviendo Farmworker Safety (Project FRESCO) is a lay health worker delivered educational intervention that increases sun safety behavior among farmworkers. The training curriculum provides promotoras with the skills and knowledge to effectively use the FRESCO materials to encourage farmworkers to make simple, practical, and lasting changes to protect themselves from heat and sun while they work in the field. Materials are available in both English and Spanish. The proceedings for the 2014- 2015 year are now available! Take a look at the report and see what happened at the three stream forums conferences this past year. |
